Another lake to visit...

This is one our favorite family spots to visit. Not only are very few people there and you get that ultimate serene feeling; you are actually touring a bit of Big Bear's Hollywood history. If Camp Inch and the Serendipity Cabin ring a bell then this place will look familiar. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about then clearly haven't seen the classic 1961 film The Parent Trap. Pretty sure I watched this every time is was on TV when I was little and have been known to watch it a few times with my kids. Which could have gotten me a few eye rolls. Ok...besides The Parent Trap there were quite a few other movies filmed here - a lot of which are much older than me. Once you get there and stare out at the lake you would understand why.

If you've got little kids as your hiking companions this is a great place to go. You can park nearby and have a nice walk around the lake. Certain times of year you can also see TONS of little frogs. What little kid doesn't like to see little baby frogs everywhere? If you are up for a bigger adventure this beautiful lake also connects with the Castle Rock trail.

Here are the links for both hikes:
